COERR Celebrated HM the King’s Birthday and the Agricultural Day in December 2012 in Refugee Camps

To celebrate H.M. the King’s Birthday on December 5, 2012, COERR Mae Sariang Office organized the activities in Ban Mae Lama Luang, Sobmoei District and Ban Mae La Oon Camp in Mae Sariang District, Mae Hong Son Province. Several agricultural activities were highlighted such as the vegetable product competition activity in which the extremely vulnerable individual refugees who regularly received seeds and tools from COERR send their vegetable products for competition; the award for good model farmers; and the contest for Miss Agriculture. Many government and private organization representatives joined the important activity too.

COERR Kanchanaburi Office celebrated H.M. the King’s Birthday and the Agriculture Day at Ban Tham Hin Camp, Suan Phueng District, Ratchaburi Province and Ban Don Yang Camp, Sangkhlaburi District, Kanchanaburi Province on 3 and 4 December, respectively. Many vulnerable farmers, youth and students participated in this event through their cultural performance, agricultural products competition, stage decoration, etc.

COERR Mae Hong Son Office organized HM the King’s Birthday and the Agricultural Day on December 4-5, 2012, in Ban Mae Surin Camp, Khun Yuam District, and Ban Mai Nai Soi Camp, Muang District, Mae Hong Son Province. The Khun Yuam District Officer opened the ceremony participated by many organization and institution representatives such as military, forestry, non-formal education and NGOs including refugees in the camps. Main activities were well-wishing ceremony to celebrate the King’s birthday; exhibition on the King and the sufficiency agriculture and environmental conservation. In this event 1,500 tree planting was launched to celebrate the occasion. COERR also provided plants for stage decoration that would be distributed to refugees afterwards; arranged the learning booth to disseminate knowledge about proper cultivation at home and granted the annual award for outstanding farmers who use organic techniques in soil improvement and crop cultivation.
